We went into Brightlingsea last night, jammed with visitors, loads of Dutch. HM saw us into a berth and took our lines, a pretty reasonable £10.50 for the night and the taxi there when we wanted it. Good service
Went to Colne YC as we had been told it has improved.
It has, a lot.
Courteous staff, super service, we got a meal booking even though they were fully booked on the normal tables. All arrived, delicious, piping hot and reasonably priced too. Dessert was also excellent and very quickly served. Staff was well worth the tip.
Beer was good quality Adnams, again reasonably priced.
Back to the boat, coffee and whisky in the cockpit, off to bed.

Went off thsi morning, shouted a quick hello to Cornsilk (Cantata of this parish), and had a fabulous romp around the Blackwater amongst the Mersea week fleets before heading out again across the Ray Sand an home to Burnham.

So, well done Brightlingsea, nothing more you could have done to make it any better.

Also visited Brightlinsea this weekend,
Lovely fish and chips, also visited local pubs.
Finished off in YC bar, very nice people and lovely trip.
Blew up on way back to Blackwater on Sunday though.
All round top weekend,,

I really like Brightlingsea (Ok I'm a doom monger about the 'flats' but that's separate) and have spent good times there. Friendly pubs and helpful HM. Met some nice boaty folk down there too.
