All this for a developer (or their heirs) who build but cannot design and/or maintain a marina.
Who would have guessed it would silt up? Anyone with more than two brain cells.
Therefore we are all being asked to give up part of the creek and its view because the marina will either not or doesn't wish to pay to maintain their own asset.
The developers and their backers took the business risk on the whole development and the marina was part of its planning permission and selling point; if it had all have gone well they wouldn't be giving away free benefits to Brightlingsea, its residents and visitors for everymore.
As it hasn't gone well, Brightlingsea, its residents and visitors should not for evermore suffer the proposed eyesore and diminution in amenity just to bail it out of a problem it could solve by other means.
There is a housing development near to Fullbridge, Maldon with its own dock. That was massively silted up but I don't recall that development saying lets build out into the Blackwater, narrow the navigable channel and then sneak some pontoons on the outside when the fuss has died down.
