I just wanted to say what a great service I received from the Brightlingsea Harbour Master over the last few days. I had to move my new to me boat from Brightlingsea to Maldon and he couldn't have been more helpful, providing a berth for a couple of nights so that I could leave on all states of the tide, towing my boat across to said berth as my outboard was being serviced, and generally being helpful and informative.

The sail back was fantastic too....but I don't think he swung that in my favour!

Thanks to all Harbour staff, great job!

I think one of the constants during the whole of my sailing days has been the kindness displayed by various BHMs and their team. When we moved from London, Brightlingsea was our preferred destination but we just couldn't find anywhere there we wanted to live. So Mersea it became (not that I regret that for one minute).

Just spent a night in Brightlingsea. Harbourmaster and his staff could not do enough, helped me berth Rhoda Rose and even escorted me out the following day. She has a long keel and handles like a pig at the best of times so the help we recieved was very much appreciated.

Anyone know if the water taxi is running in Brightlingsea and what times?

We plan to go down in a week or two, but don't have the dinghy on board.
