Have been going to Brightlingsea by sea for many years.

I'm now considering a berth there.

The problem seems to be car parking though. Surrounding area is terraced houses
with council car parks not catering for a long stay of a few days.

Is there an economical answer ?

Many Thanks.

We find we can nearly always find a place fairly nearby and, even when parked at our furthest away, it is not really that far to walk at all.
If you have gear, drop it (and passengers) off at the hard and go and park the car.

Thanks for the responses.

I would be with the Brightlingsea Harbour moorings .

I was at Brightlingsea today for about half a day. The nearest I could get parked was Promenade Way where the Swimming Pool and Batemans tower are. A fair walk but doable , but we are out of season now and I would guess the Promenade would fill quickly in the summer.

It may just be because the marina flats area is still being developed .

Consider joining the Yacht Club, and parking in their yard?
There is a car park near the Sailing Club - but I don't know what their overnight policy is.
Don't park near the hard, even if there is a space! It floods!!

Wer have always found parking in the Tower street area for weekends and longer stays. Never had a problem. Been there 3 years now. Yacht club parking is a non starter.....

The Yacht club has only a very few spaces and I believe do not allow longer then 12 hours, the sailing club has a large car park but you would need to join to use it. The side streets all get busy but Tower St is probably your best bet, its wider then New St and Sydney St. As has been mentioned possibly Morgans can help, or the shipyard near to Morgans.

Hiya, I have my boat moored up at Morgans and have never had any problems parking, plenty of room even at the Regata weekend, speak to Rick or Steve at Morgans for a Berth
