Can anyone enlighten me about the very bright red lights on the mainland bearing a few degrees west of north from Newtown? Sometimes they appear as one light, other times they separate into two distinct lights. It's been niggling me for a few months. Can't find anything on the chart or Ordnance Survey.

I think they are probably two tower cranes on the west bank of the River Beaulieu just past the Mulberry buoy.

Going up the River Welland to Fosdyke yacht haven l was scratching my head over two very strong red lights that conflicted with the channel markers. They were on top of the power station at Spalding about 8 miles up river. It's easy to be misled.

I think a house has been demolished and is being replaced but I am not sure. It is difficult to see the site as it is shielded by trees. Work has been going on there for well over a year.

You can see a crane top left in this still from a video we happened to take.
