Breaking news. Today I found out the the WOA have been allocated a berth at the Southampton Boat Show. So, Concerto will be in that berth. You will be welcome to come and see my fully renovated Fulmar. I shall be staying onboard for the duration of the show and will love to meet you all.

For those of you who have not followed the the renovation of Concerto, then have a look at this link.

To see her being sailed, then these two videos will entertain you.

Looked at all the photos on web. Well done and a nice job. I hope the pleasure in displaying the boat will give some compensation for all the work. I must say if it was me I would have thought the boat as bought was ok just done what work was really needed and gone sailing. I guess the state of my own 42yo boat is indicative of this attitude. But then every man to his own obsession. Congratulations ol'will

Many people will agree with you ol'will and done the mimimum of maintenance so they could go sailing. But sailing a boat in tip top condition is even better, many people admire and comment on boats in top condition. All of the work has been done steadily over the past 7 years and has still allowed me to sail as well. Recently I was away for nearly 3 weeks sailing and thoroughly enjoyed it. As all the intended work should be competed before the show, next year I have a 5 month trip planned - to sail singlehanded from Chatham to the Shetland Isles at the other end of the country and then back down the west coast.

Thank you Mister E.

The list of jobs still to complete is long and includes:
Finish the last third of the interior woodwork.
Repaint the deck.
Compund and polish the topsides and gel coat on the coachroof and cockpit.
Revarnish all the exterior woodwork.
Insulate the cool box and fit a fridge unit.
Remove the water tank for a small repair.
Antifoul and new anodes.
If I have time, fit new sound proofing in the engine compartment and move the water separator in the deisel supply from behind the engine to the front.
Remove all non essential items from the boat.
Plus many minor items.
Not to mention sailing to the Solent for a final clean up before entering the show marina.

We were at the show a few years ago as per avatar . I trust you have an enjoyable week and no damage results due to welcoming all these visitors on board. As one who remembers days of westerly great to see all the work you have put in as useful material even for those with other makes. Will certainly be worth removing as much as possible from lockers etc before your week exhibiting. I wonder what it would cost to buy a new fulmar today if they still made them . A new centaur cost around £7.5 k in 1976 I believe . Hopefully will have the time to drop by.
