Well, we’ve been in Portugal for a year now - here’s a look at the final leg of our trip from Santander to Portimao.

Highlights were many including Galicia, the rias, Porto, Douro river and Cascais.

Breaking Bad has gone to pastures new and we wait for our next adventure in grp to be delivered.
Here’s to the friends who came with us and the friendships made on the way.

We’re coming to the Med next year to see what all the fuss is about - until then....

Very slick well edited video gave a great taste of your trip.

thanks for posting :encouragement:

Fantastic video. Well done! Brought back many memories of our trip this year.

Wish we could have recorded something similar, but my video skills are not a patch on yours.

Very cool video, nicely put together.
+1.
The Douro area is indeed lovely.
I never cruised the river, but it's easy to guess how nice the trip must have been. :encouragement:

You don't possibly know who is the producer of the fairlead which is visible for a moment at 1:20, or do you?

Thnx, the Douro river is just awesome and we will revisit one day - I’d keep a second boat there if we could afford to do so.

The fairlead is standard fit on the 500 and 550 I think - not sure who the manafacturer is, although I could ask...

Well you have time to practice before your next trip down! :)

Thnx
Btw, where would you most like to linger on your next delivery trip? Next time we would spend more time in Galicia and the Rias and I’d take a month on the Douro River - but your air draft will be too high for that....

Thanks, what the video doesn’t show is the camaraderie between us and our cruising partners on their Trader - the trip would not have been the same without Elvie and Richard.
Alas they have returned to the E Channel and we miss them greatly....

Coincidentally we have just been discussing that. Starting from the top, Golfe de Morbihan, Galician Rias, Oporto, the Algarve, then not much until we get to the Balearics, then perhaps a return visit to the SoF. Time permitting!

It would have been far easier to put together if I’d taken just a little more care with the filming...the whole thing was shot on my IPhone 7’s +
Ann spent the whole 4 months of the trip asking ‘why do you need all your expensive cameras gear when all you ever film with is your phone?’ :)

Yup, agree with all of that - although if you don’t cut the corner, your boat would look pretty awesome anchored in La Concha bay - San Sebastián....and the food!!!!

We did a river cruise up the Douro.
Some of those locks are spectacular - IIRC more than 40m drop in some cases.

I see.
The cleat reminds me of a model I've seen on Osculati catalogue, and indeed they also sell a fairlead with rollers, but it's different from the one in your video.
If you could find out, it's more than just curiosity from my part, because I might be interested in a pair of those things.
But only if that's very easy for you - thanks anyway! :)

These are quite close (scroll down to "Roller"): https://www.seascrew.com/browse.cfm...WSEHOLE--HAWSEPIPE-STAINLESS-316&l=0000000128

Two sizes available. We bought one but haven't fitted it yet. Seems very well made but can't speak to the quality of the stainless steel until it's seen some briny. It was in stock when we bought ours and delivery was 48 hours. Seemed very good value if the stainless is indeed good.

Lovely video BTW, and nice to see Richard's boat, you may remember he helped me out a year ago.

I'll have to admit that video made me very envious. Fantastic looking places to cruise in, made even more special by having good company as well. Well done! Very well put together video too. Thank you for posting.

Very enjoyable video Nigel. Look forward to hearing about your exploits in the Med next year!

Thank you kindly :)
I have been very busy practicing with the Mavic for the last few weeks, there’s some great stuff on the latest update #dronieshotsrule!
