bread on board

Have you tried the part baked dough from the supermarket?
I found a pack in the back of a locker where it had been hiding for a couple of months. Fifteen mins. in the oven and it was fine.
Saves all the floury mess and rising nonesense.
I tried making bread in a pressure cooker once. Never again. Even the fish wouldn't eat it off a hook.

Good answer, and...

... your reply reminds me of the 'Grook' by Piet Hein (miraculously, AFAIAA translated from Swedish....), and from memory...

Grook on making Toast (or, "How to char for yourself")

Its an art of knowing when -
never try to guess,
toast until its smoking...
... then twenty seconds less!

... works every time... (thanks)

You can buy packet bread mix from most supermarkets. All you have to do is add water, knead it a bit, let it prove for some time (preferably in a warm place) and bake it.

Use it all the time -very repeatable, good results - fresh bread available all the way to the Caribbean.

Normal gas cooker - your problem will be a fridge big enough to store the butter/marge! along with everything else you need).

LOOK OUT!!! Behind y.......! Five hoots and you're out!

Yes, the long life vacuum pack stuff is very good, usually 2 batons or 6 rolls in a pack. Completey forgot about this when I did my other post. I think they also do croissants.
