Bray to Abingdon

I look on it that if she was efficient and did charge everyone, that it would discourage the cheapskate narrowboaters and therefore ensure you could actually get on there!
By making it free, you have no chance of getting rid of them.

It would be so much easier if they were made to raft up. A couple of NB's were at The Bounty on our way up river. Two boats, possibly only two customers, no one else could get on:nonchalance:
Fortunately we got a space a couple of weeks later and enjoyed an excellent lunchtime/late night sesh.:encouragement:

Came back down through Wallingford about 3.30 this afternoon intending to stop and get provisions in. No way! If they charge everyone who was there it would sort out any council debt; many triple rafted, more two boats rafted out, it looked like an ATYC Rally of the 1970's. Second year haven't been able to stop in Wallingford going up or down, and because of the slumboats above in the trees no option there either. What is the attraction of Wallingford where you have to pay as against Abingdon where it's free and this week loads of empty moorings?

Wallingford = Bunkfest. Street food, bands etc. People get there days early to nab a spot and their mates raft up.
It looks really good, I'd love to go, but it's too close to the kids going back to school for us.
I suppose I could drive, but where's the fun in that? It would spoil the magic for me if I found out how quick the journey from Teddington to Oxfordshire is by car:D
