Bray Marina crane service

I'm due a service this year, so will probably take it to Penton Hook, providing there still is some sort of offer to Bray customers. Failing that, I suppose the nearest alternative is probably DB Marine at Cookham, as I believe that they have a crane (if someone can confirm). Has anyone had any experience of DB Marine?

DB do have a crane. They do the servicing on my S24; more expensive than independents (VP dealer) but very good. They will also travel to you (£45), but imagine your service is for your leg as well, hence crane requirement?

Does it need to come out for a service!?

Penton are cheap as chips with your MDL offer, and cheaper than DB Marine who are horrific in £££ terms.

Mooring costs unchanged this year, and all manner of improvements in the Marina, as well as the usual MDL benefits (Cost price fuel etc) :encouragement:

Johnny

With all due respects babe, this is a crock....

Who wants to schlepp down to Pikey Harbour.

Marina without a crane needs to drop their rates or folks will no doubt leave. Wonder how many it will be. They lost 29 one year when they put the rates up.

I wonder how Dominic will sell boats that need surveys, taking them all down and back again to PH sounds like a new permanent job for someone.

Crazy.

Try racecourse found them very reasonable last year, service was good and the price made it not worth the effort of going down to Penton even though I am a MDL berth holder.

I’ve used DB Marine, Shepperton and Windsor Racecourse over the past few years for my 8 tonne steel boat and found them all excellent.

Agreed, especially Racecourse, but they lack space on the hard-standing. Same may be said for Bourne End Marina.
I would also suggest Hambleden Mill, once they empty the hard-standing for the summer there is heaps of space in a far from industrial setting.

Surely MDL are not reviewing their options because of scurrilous rumours they
(and other marinas / moorings) may have to start forking out for "accomodations" in the near future ?
