Yes, I have seen the meteo for the weekend, but skipper insists we will get some sailing in. So, having resisted the temptation to join in the club trip from Falmouth to Fowey this weekend, I find myself in shallow territory once more.

I don't suppose for a moment anyone else is mad enough to hoist canvas this weekend, but if anyone is about in the Backwaters/Orwell/Stour area and would like to meet up for a pint and a natter, please get in touch. I am told the loose (by which is meant barely hanging together) plan is WFYC Friday (anyone know if there is power alongside?), Levington Saturday, Pin Mill Sunday lunch, Shotley Sunday eve, thence back to Titchmarsh.

Moral support gratefully received also. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

"plan is WFYC Friday (anyone know if there is power alongside?),"

There is a wharf outside to clubhouse where you can stop breifly around high water but you cannot stay there when the tide drops. They do not allow it, I think because the bed is very steep, so much that a bilge keeler actually turned over on it's side a few years back.

Friday 22nd March HW 1141 4.2m, 2352 4.1m. Sat 1218 4.1m. These must be Spring tides.

You can go in the pond at the club, and there is power IF the barman has tokens, but you need to book in advance so someone opens the drop gate to the pond at around 1 hour before HW only to HW. Don't think you will be allowed in when it is dark (and you won't want to do it unless you know it very well).

If you are berthed at Tichmarsh you might as well stay there overnight. Go to the Harbour Lights and book a Taxi down to Walton, cost around £5. Have a quick drink whilst you wait. Walton Shore Taxi 01255 676887 or Walton Taxi 01255 675910. If you have a lot to drink walk back, you won't notice the 2 miles but take a torch.
