Hello Chaps. Not too sure iF I am Doing this correctly Postinga thread..

I have a Nauticat 44. Now on land in Bosa Sardinia The Marina Says They need to do the work.. They gave me a quote over 1 week ago I accepted for Bronze

Today 8 days later they come back to my boat and Remeasure tonight a 2nd Quote stating teh Bronze will take about another 10 days to order and deliver Very Frustrating as I asked them over 1 week agoo and Accepteed thier Quite GUIDA Valves etc..

ANY WAY my Question is BRONZE or BRASS They May have the brass ones in Store or maybe short delivery.

I have also tonight asked Maestrini in Milan what is the Delivery time for Bronze.

I know Bronze is MORE Expensive BUT does BRASS CORRODE a friend of mine says they do.. Maestrini Said Some brass has anto Corrosive material inside - This all stems from a Friend saying My Grill seems to be changing t copper colour..

Toilet Valves OUTLET
The other two valves 57mm Nut One has seized and the other feels like it does not shut off correctly.

TIME I Have een here now 2 weeks and the only job done was by me Packing in stuffing box.

Marina even stopped me Sanding my hull

Ordinary brass is not suitable for underwater fittings in seawater.
There's a type of brass known as DZR which is de-zincification resistant, and marked with a CR mark. This is suitable.
Bronze is better, but generally more expensive.
You can also choose composite like Tru Design, and then you have no corrosion problems at all.

Tru design is the nearest you'll ever get to fit and forget.

You're right, do not use brass.

Bronze is very expensive

DZR as said above is acceptable.

I replaced thru hulls and valves with the tru design type. That would be my preference. Failing that DZR.

It does appear that there is space for somewhat bigger plastic valves but the post gives the impression that he would like an early solution, possibly not available where he is?
