Brass fittings. Identification needed.

Can anyone help me find some fitting like these? They are used to secure books onto a shelf (ignore the netting). I have only found components for large ropes used to surround garden decking.

Neat idea, how is the rope fixed? Very easy to make with a lathe, they might be builder's specials.

I think it must be glued in place.

I was wondering about getting them made up by some with a late. I need 16 of them. Maybe there is a small but enthusiastic market for them?

Looking at rope ends for larger diameters, they are threaded and so just screw on to the rope. Maybe some glue or a screw through body might be good as well.

But no idea where to get them as posted, sorry.

I have the same kind of fitting on a leather bangle - for the bangle it clicks into a catch on the other side.. I think they are called bayonet clasps.. these are stainless steel and 8mm - any good???
