Pikey's. Sink Estate. Scum. Gipsies. New Age Travellers. Nomads. Jews.

Hitler is alive and well.

For shame on you all. You want the chimneys burning again.

You really cannot have sympathy for these people, can you? Oh! I think I only mentioned Pikeys, the others are your addition.

If the stuff was taken without intention of declaring it to the Receiver of Wrecks, then it was dishonestly appropriated. It is theft.

If you are going to make offensive statements, then I suggest that you do a little research first into what you are talking about. Trying to suggest that only maritime law applies is, I am afraid, ridiculous. Stick to topics you have some knowledge of.

It comees under maritime law. Please get an education in these matters before vomiting.

Nonsense

This property is not being dishonestly appropriated.

Please switch on and think before you start baying

WHAT IS IT DOING ON EBAY THEN????

Do you know of someone who has stolen from this wreck - if so it is your duty to report it and appear in court as witness to the crime

A ray of sunshine among the baying hounds.

Madame Gregoire De Stachelin said: ' The more I see of men the more I like dogs'.

From the beeb

"Anita and Jan Bokdal's possessions were being transported on the MSC Napoli from their native Sweden to South Africa, where they have bought a winery.

They were horrified to see pictures in the media of their belongings, including photographs, family heirlooms and clothing for poor communities in South Africa, being emptied on to the beach.

People spent hours rummaging through the debris

She said the police should have done more to stop the looters.

"For me it's stealing our things....as far as I know the police should have been there in the beginning and stopped this. The law must do something about it, " said Mrs Bokdal.

Later she learned that she will be reunited with some of her belongings because a member of the public had reported them to the authorities."

I'm not a baying hound, but for many hours yesterday I was an onlooker.........

There's a big difference between a container that has been smashed open and it's contents strewn all over the beach, and one that's washed ashore intact and still closed. Far easier to tidy up the latter, I think you'll agree.

The problems began when containers were opened by "Joe public" and their contents removed, cases broken open, things not wanted cast aside as playthings for wind and tide..........

I dare say, at the end of the day, you could compare the above to someone who removes things from an empty house when someones been careless enough to leave a window or door open, nipping quickly in to take the tv and video, as opposed to someone who kicks in the door or smashes a window, strews clothes, papers and food all over the carpet, and then pisses in the sink before running off with the family jewels.......

I made that decision before starting to post , preferring to look elsewhere for new BMW parts suddenly flooding the market and reporting to them as possibly stolen , they've gone into a panic because a lot of the sellers seem to be from , er , shall we say not far from the wreck site

No you cannot compare it's under maritime law.

the container that's been washed ashore could easily be taken back out to sea. If this happened you would be bitching about why it wasn't salvaged by .. whoever.

People are acting within the law unless proven otherwise

Aah the baying has abated for a short while, isn't it wonderful people ARE acting within the law and goods ARE being reunited.

Hi brian. If everyone is so worried about piles of junk on the south coast, I reckon that most marinas will end up half empty...

Also, could we agree on the plural of "pikey"? I've seen pikey's, pikeys, pikeies and so on - they can't all be right.
