Is there still a market for after sales branded merchandise? For example, caps, glasses, crockery, towels, scarves, ties, cufflinks.

Personally I might buy towels (if the quality was good) and a cap. Glasses might be nice too but crockery is probably a bit OTT for me (although I did like MYAG's beautiful Sunseeker bone china).

Also, if branded, how fussy would people be that the logo is correct to match the age of the boat (Fairline for example had had at least 4 logos over the years).

Or is it all bit naff?

IMHO clothing certainly is a bit naff and often (mostly?) worn by those who don't actually own the kit in question, or by those who are employed to sell it. I must confess a weakness for crew kit with the boat name on it though.

We have branded clothing for the charter business, but that has the name of the business, rather than the boat manufacturer on it. (In fairness, a 40ft Cranchi is hardly anything to brag about)

Often get complimented on it, staying that it looks very professional (Although that's down to the logo designer, nowt to do with me)

On a few occasions, i've seen people wear branded polo shirts / jackets... personally I find it a bit naff. If they were crew, i'd think the opposite.

Pete, I am 2 tall glasses short of a complete set of crockery, cutlery and glasses on my Azi. We love using the Azi stuff, but unfortunately can't source the tall glasses any more.

The glasses and plates thing is very much each to their own Pete but I hate it. Logos for Fairline, sunseeker and Ferretti stuck on plates and cups and saucers etc seem crummy to me. Those companies are good at making boats, not plates. If you want a brand on your plates it needs to be the brand of a quality plate maker, not the name of a boat builder. Likewise glasses etc. I chucked my fairline branded glasses and towels away as soon as the boat was delivered and got proper stuff; fortunately they provided nice plates with no added branding. I cringe at champagne glasses with the sunseeker crest on them just as I would if I bought a house that came with glasses branded "Barrett", "Wimpey", "Octagon", "Jimmy TB" or "Nick_H".
A baseball cap is ok though
All very much imho

Not sure if you are thinking about creating this sort of branded merchandise for your online business but I would have thought Brand Logos would be trademarked/copyright so you would need some sort of licencing agreement in place with the rights holder. Perhaps that would depend on if it was a general offering or a special custom order from an individual.

Good point but something I may be able to overcome.
