Guessing you must have a 24V windlass...I'm learning there are a lot of features on the Smeraldo 37 that are nicer than the Zaffiro 34. On my Z34, the windlass breaker is jumpered off the main 12V feed breaker so that the windlass can be powered with the main 12V breaker turned off. Windlass still trips the new Eaton breaker hauling up 40 feet of chain. I'll be checking and cleaning all the connections next, and possibly removing the motor for cleaning/rewinding after that. I'm guessing that it sitting for 25 years never being used really hasn't done it any favors.Good detective work - please do report back.
FWIW, on my Smeraldo 37 there's 2 x breakers (joined) for the Windlass.
