I've taken the bottom off. The ring was in place but loose. I assume it sits in the recess just proud of the mating surfaces. Tried to fit the new ring but it kept springing out as it is marginally larger than the old one. Is that to be expected? Thanks

Yeh its kind of square section sits slightly proud often glued in with what looks like bellows adhesive I usually just fit them dry or sit in a smear of silicon gasket.
Have you determined the source of the leak?

Thanks, there are no obvious leak areas. I can only assume it was the quad ring. I'll replace all O rings and pressure test again.
