Bradwell gets the green light and green fish etc

I heard at that British Energy didn't want Bradwell, as cheaper and easier to build prefered option at Sizewell. But, that assumes it is BE that build it. Could be a French or even Russian company maybe.

Perhaps Bradwell will actually produce a decent amount of juice this time.

Last time it just about produced enough for the traffic lights in Maldon.

I used to crew on one of the old smacks in the Blackwater.

The skipper told a story (from a long time ago) of how he came across a man with a geiger counter in the mud. The man told him that he wouldn't go wandering around too much if he were him.

Whether true or not I don't know.

I think nuclear power is a wonder of science, IF it is handled properly.

Sadly, it isn't very often.

Even in the decommissioning of Bradwell a few years ago they found a lake of toxic waste that was supposed to have a lid on it (according to Maldon and Burnham newspaper)

I don't know the answer, but EDF (aren't they French?) or anyone running a power plant is in it for the profit, and that does not bode well when it comes to safety.
My opinion only.

Worked best when Dr No owned it in the early sixties.

Shame he sold up and went to the Bahamas.
