Bradwell - Easter Weekend

keep close to the withies and buoys. Don,t try and cut corners. I was stuck for 5 hours doing just that.

Is that tested this year? Last year the best water in the marked channel is in the middle twix withies and buoys. Try the chartlet here: http://www.crossingthethamesestuary.com/page6.html (scroll down the page). If you can get over the hump twix the second and third buoys you can get all the way in. Leaving the green buoy to starboard on the way in might look challenging at low water but is the correct thing to do! If you touch, it's pretty soft and the tide will lift you in due course without any trauma.

I draw 1.7m so 3 hours either side of HW is OK. As Tillergirl says, if you can get up the creek in the marked channel then you'll be OK into the marina.

I didn't pay much attention today (too busy enjoying it) but my feeling is the depth on the hump twix the middle two cans is the same as that right at the marina entrance where the sill is more noticeable then it used to be. I'll make some notes next time. I touched there last year at 3hrs 40 mins after HW and ploughed my way in (after motoring for 28 hours from Rotterdam nothing was going to stop me!).

Next time TG needs to visit for fuel perhaps he could verify that.

As we have visitors staying I doubt I'll be there to buy you a welcome drink. Food in the marina bar is a bit mediocre but will fill a hungry tum. If he has a BBQ on then his steaks are usually very good. The Green Man is only a short walk for good food and beer.

and ploughed my way in

A useful way of clearing the channel!

Fuel tank full - of nice clean 'polished' fuel. But I think it is time to redo the survey given that there is a general feel of change around. I launch on 30th April (ready or not) and aim to try to do the SW Sunk first but if the weather is unkind, I'll do Bradwell.

Thanks for all the information Guys, my plan gets me there around two hours before but you know what plans are. :) ... I will try to note the depths myself and will certainly let you know how I (we) get on....
Thanks again
