Has anyone experience of fitting a bowthruster to a 'performance cruiser' !! if so, how did it effect the sailing performance

We have the hull just in front of the bow thruster feathered out. This makes a big difference to the drag that would otherwise be imposed by the trailing face of the tunnel. (I am told 0.5 knots difference).
Most people only have the tunnel through the hull and don't give any thought to the increased drag.

i think the flare is pretty standard practice these days. the front lip of the tunnel is left about 1" proud of the hull and is faired in with filler.

I heard that real sailors don't even use an engine, never mind a bowthruster.
