Progress.......having checked the dimensions of the Pudenz (the makers of your fuse and fuse holder) kit, the standard is 60mm centres or there abouts...!

ean_p, thanks for the steer to the Pudenz reference. Here's what's happened...
The data sheet says that the studs are fixed through the plastic of the fuse holder and that the retaining nut are factory torqued and should not be removed. However, they where removed by Najad to sandwich the buss bar between the 'not to be removed nut' and the fuse holder. When tightened the stud was pulled slightly through the holder body creating a lose fitting for the stack of nuts and washers.
Fixed... the fuse does not get hot and the bow thruster is wanging the boat around at a never-seen-before rate.
