Hello from Belgium,
we have a Bavaria Sport 37. we have a dock in Croatia, the island of Murter. in Winter the boat is on the land. we have every Year new Antifouling on the hull. when we leave for Belgium we put the Z drives in plastic bags. But what can you do, so that the bow prop has no dirt in it. after two weeks there is already a lot of "stones" on it.....

nothing. The water will wash it off when you put her back in so why bother. I wouldn't bother with the out drives either.

I'm confused. Are we talking about "stones" in the bothruster while the boat is on land? In which case, brush them off. Or when the boat is in the water? In which case are they really stones, or barnacles? And they can just be scraped off while swimming in beautiful Croatia summer, surely?

for how long is your boat in the water in summer ?
all summer or just a holliday period ?

our boat is 4 weeks in Croatian water every summer,
after 4 weeks we have some green fouling and barnacles on the hull, but these go off easyly with hi pressure cleaning,
so we don't need anti fouling.

for the barnacles on the Z drive, I clean these a few times manually during some morning snorkling

but I'am also confused about what you mean with "Stones" on the prop ?

hi,

the boat is in the water from end of april till half september. after the boat is placed on the land in the marina. so the boat stays about 5 months in the water. on the hull there is a perfect antifouling from Hempel. when we leave the marina for some weeks we put the z-drives in plastic bags. but on the bowtrhruster there are coming little "like" stones. and after about 2 weeks the bowthruster has 1/2 power. then now we take a knife of someting to scrape it off and clean it. but is a job. nex year I gonna try to put 2 gummi balls in the tunnel of the bowthruser, 1 on the left side en one on the right side, with the tunnelwide. i is possible it helps...
