Hi all
seems I need a new bow thruster, boat lifted Monday east cowes, bow thruster nerver been much use, boat had a stern thruster but no motor, fitted a motor, now gear box gone, bow thruster is a noble 8 Or10 hp power ,stern is a QL Volvopenta SP 1300 seems parts for both are no longer available ,anyone no of anyone that has a gearbox for the QL new or second hand and recommend somewhere to get a new bow thruster fitted.

If you're fitting new fit Sleipner SidePower. In your power range they are the best. Is the bowthruster tunnel 10 inch or the next size down? If funds allow it would be great to increase it to 10 inch if it isn't already

Thanks for all replys ,we had not planned to visit the boat show, but as it is only 25mins away went this morning ,very fortunate to speak to Bryn Thomas the general manager of Sleipner uk ,the second time we visited there stand, well you have to check the rest before you pick the best:),really helpfully guy, they are sending a rib over to east cowes tomorrow to carry out a survey and estimate, now that's what I call bl--dy good service :)

Not sure what size existing tunnels are, going to check tomorrow.( no tape measure on boat) :)

Bryn is a top chap. Knows his stuff, and is a boater himself, as are the other top directors at Sleipner. He did most of the supervision of my Sleipner install (stabilisers and 2x thrusters) on Match1 and did the seatrials and commissioning, and will be doing same on Match2. In this power range Sleipner is the best thruster gear you can buy. Not the cheapest, but the best, and worth the money imho. If you want an electric thruster that you can run for a few minutes and not something that cuts out after 30 seconds or whatever you need a Sleipner/SidePower unit.

On the 8inch versus 10 inch tunnel thing take Bryn's advice not mine. You might not need 10 inch and it would be a crazy waste of money if it's not needed
