A strange thing happened whilst motoring in the rain yesterday, my bow thruster just came on sporadically..
We turned off the main switch for a while then back on and still the same problem..
Later when we'd anchored I investigated, found nothing that I could see, then turned on the circuit breaker again and everything worked as normal...
I mentioned the rain as the thruster's rocker switch is on the throttle leaver..

Happened to anyone else??

We had a similar problem last year except our bow thruster started working at 0200 while we were on a buoy in Kilchoan bay in Scotland, not a good way to be woken up as we sleep in the forward cabin. After much work Stewart Walker in Orkney eventually diagnosed the problem (we had other people look at it) as being due to a faulty controller, probably a slightly sticky relay. We ordered and fitted an new QL controller and everything has been working perfectly since.

Thanks island163, I tried switching the rocker switch back and forth to no avail... Then all I heard was a clicking sound and no bow movements (I had to put that in:-)) But I was thinking it might just be the switch getting wet..
