I have just put a similar post on the power boat section. I own a Beneteau 36CC which has a high windage. I used to keep my yacht at Northney which has a reputation as one of the most windy estuary marinas on the south coast. I fitted a thruster because I was taking her to the Med. For stern to mooring single handed I am glad that I did. I didn't have it in Northney although sometimes I wish I had especially in the winter cross winds on my pontoon. I had it fitted by a guy in Chichester for £6oo who used to work for one of the big power boat companies. I don't use it much but when drifting onto someones Oyster 56 in a F6 cross wind it cuts out the swearing! As others have said on the forum get used to the boat first and then fit a thruster if you feel you need peace of mind in that rare tricky siuation. If you want his tel no send me an E.
