Only bit i don't get is why mobos need a bow thruster.

Try reversing into a Med stern-to mooring in a strong cross wind without one

Rafiki has nearly zero water draft for the first 3rd of her length, unlike a raggie, hence the bow gets easily swung in a breeze.
