Bow thruster battery cable size

Hi all,
Im fitting a sidepower 100kg thrust bow thruster and am trying to determine the correct battery cable dia. The length of run from the batterys will be about 3 metres and will be running from a dedicated battery,

you'll be knocking on the door of 800 Amps and so 95 sq mm will be needed even for that short run.

2 thinner cables fine if it makes the total cross section.

big thruster - what's it for?

EDIT - forgot to ask 12 V or 24? I assumed 12 as you said battery in the singular, you can come down to 50 sq mm if its 24V

Why not simply follow the guidelines in the installation manual? It recommends 95 sq mm at 12v or 50 sq mm at 24v.
 
If the distance between thruster and battery is 3m giving a total cable length "there and back" of 6m

Since 95mm² cable has a resistance of approx 0.18Ω/1000m the volts loss will be 0.65 volts at 600 amps or 0.86 volts at 800 amps.
