Am trying to find clamp to fit 85mm dia spinny pole to bow to act as removable bowsprit.
Lashed the idea together last year to fly Cruising Chute and it worked well. now would like something more permanent.
Ideally hinged as up and down haul u bolts would foul a fixed ring

That size is my boasting down the pub exaggerated size, in reality I am a lot smaller especially in this cold weather.

Bowsprit

I found a cantilever pole was insufficiently strong to take the upward forces of an 860ft2 genniker.

The 75mm one just broke and the 100mm one bent grievously.

I finally replaced it with a wishbone made if 55 mm stainless tube, pivoted at its inboard end, 1.2m long from the stem and with a 5-part tackle on a SS strop leading down to a U-bolt at the waterline.

An added refinement was to put a mainsheet traveller onto the very tip, allowing the foot to be moved to windward.

The dolphin striker needs to be as close to 45 degrees with the sprit, as you can get it

Results during the 4 years I've had it in use have been good, and it doubles up as passarelle when tied up.
