hi
the moorings upstream of boveney lock will be reduced as from the fifth of
september,a temporary bridge for the olympic games will be constructed shortly.
i was told that navigation could be restricted on the river above the eton college boathouse.

does anyone have any more info?

Nothing on the EA restrictions page yet and it does seem early.

Ha! Would be a nightmare if true - Boveney's upstream moorings are not the largest on the river and holding station there can be a bit tricky for lighter boats in windy conditions (I've been broadside into the lock before!). Still, all part of the fun, I guess :)

Not really looking forward to next year though - Bray (and Windsor and Racecourse) bertholders will have a choice: either queue through the Dorney Reach restrictions down river or queue through tiny Bray lock (is that the only lock with smaller layby than Boveney?!) up river. Decisions, decisions!!!
