Boston to wells Harbour in July

Hi . First of all i am new to posting on a forum ! So please forgive me if i get it wrong .
My question is .. I have a prout Quest Catamaran 31ft and albeit,my family and I have used her as a river cruiser for the last couple of years. We have now decided it is time to reunite her with the sea !
So ...Our journey has begun . Our intention is to Coastal cruise from the wash (Boston) Hop over to France ,use the Canal/Rivers to go South and then enter the Med where we will rig her and sail on out !
So ... Currently she is a motor boat without Sails .
So far ... We have started out from Selby (North Yorkshire ) Down the Tidal Ouse , The Humber onto the Trent. Down the Trent to Lincoln (Our current Location) Then onto Boston and out across the Wash to wells Harbour.
My Question is ...Is anybody else going out of Boston towards Wells Harbour in July 2022 so we could buddy up ?
Or does anybody know a pilot that would accompy us across The Wash to Wells Harbour ? I am happy to pay for a service but i am struggling a little to find one . Please bear in mind we are on Motor not Sail at the moment .
Given i don't have much too much experience on the Sea and i have not used a Catamaran on the Sea before , i am hoping for a Mooring in North Norfork and use it for a couple of months to get used to it before going any further .I thought i would include that before anyone suggests it !
All Help (With Passage,Training suggestions, Local Knowledge and constructive critisism welcomed .

You are making it hard for yourselves, why did you not rig her and sail out of the Humber to Wells, on,y 12 hours to get there. Going slowly round the coast under engine only on a cat is not going to be comfortable, it’s a long way before you get to France. The wash from Boston is not fun, it looks like it’s only a quick hop across to wells but with tide and wind it’s not.
 
I agree with Dave. The Glory Hole at Lincoln has a max of 4.64m and is domed. Your Prout has a beam of 4.34m. 0.3 of a metre is about 11 inches - 5.5 inches either side. In theory it would pass for the beam but the height?

Thank you for the replies .
As for going back up to the humber and then rigging her up we have considered this . However we are not in any hurry to get over to france( end this year or spring next) and may come back inland at some point hence keeping her on motor at present. The glory hole looks tight but possible albeit probably have to walk her through.

If you have the chart for the Wash, with a shallow draft it's relatively straightforward, and you can cut a few corners. Why not wait until you get to Boston and ask at the marina. Usually a few people go over to Wells most weekends either from Boston or Fosdyke. I have even seen Narrow boats in Wells, although I wouldn't recommend it.
 
Thank you , That seems the most positive news so far ! we were planning to do that as a course of action . we thought we would try stay in Boston for a few days and go in and out a few times to get a feel ?
As for needing an ICC i am well aware of that .

There is a useful web site: Port of Wells

You can monitor current Notices to Mariners for the Wash to Blakeney by going to Notices to Mariners. Select the area list for that and then scroll down the notices. Most this year have been addressed to the Kings Lynn Approaches but there is a UKHO block showing a narrowing of the Boston Approaches (you can download a copy of the block)

Last time I went from Boston to Lincoln it was rather pleasant if a little shallow and weedy in the upper part. But then that was in 1961 or 1962. The rail yard full of steam engines and coal trucks made Brayford Pool a mucky place. No, a VERY mucky place. :sick:
 
Check your tank is clean before departing, calm inland waterways will not stir any sludge up up very much, but any sort of sea certainly will and you are not intending to have sails to fall back on...
