Good day ladies and gentlemen,

I have a Robert Bosch ignition switch, model number 9 340 240 044 and I'm having trouble locating information on which pin does what. Does anyone have any ideas that could help?

My problem at the minute is lots of old and decaying wiring and I've gotten to a point where if I turn isolator to engine battery on the engine turns over, so I can only assume there must be pins on wrong on switch, or switch is knackered.

Help!!

James

Yes, but I solved the problem by elimination - continuity tested them all and found a web page that had roughly the same switch, so thank you for prompt reply,

James
Can I get what webpage you bought that switch from? I have the same exact one and looking for a replacement

The Bosch switch mentioned is a basic 3 position switch ( OFF, ON, START) used on many petrol engines and some older diesel engines without glow plugs

Furneaux Riddall have a three position switch which should be suitable if it fits.

12volt planet offer a universal 4 position switch ( accessories, off, on, start) which will be suitable if you ignore the accessories position and terminal . Abut £15 IIRC.
