Boring battery question

I've got a "Megapulse" thing fitted in the boat. T'was there when I purchased it many moons ago. I've never had the thing connected to the batteries since I changed from a single batt to a 2 batt system.
So has anyone got/heard of them. Do they work, ie make the batts last longer, or shall I just bin it with the rest of the redundant rubbish I've pulled out.

Very helpful and encouraging reply -I think not!

check out <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.megapulse.net/> Here</A> before ripping it out unless you want to spend extra bucks on Sterling or adverk controllers.

I'm not 100% convinced that these things actually work. For the last 6 years its just sat in the engine bay doing nothing. I changed the single batt for 2 batts and a 1,2,both switch. I've not taken the batteries out of the boat in that time. They've been fine every year. Now I've said that you watch them go flat!
