borg warner 72c clutch plates

have you had them done before john ,where is he based

No but he came highly recommended he is in Basildon iirc, try him he may or may not still be operating. I still have one sitting in the shed in need of repair but the "old" ones are still good, and my philosophy is "if it ain't broke why fix it?"

have you not done one yourself john I thought I would have a go myself unless someone out there has a pair of decent ones sat in the shed they want to sell

TOO many bits to lose!! get yours repaired then you will know they are good. 2nd hand shed jobs are nearly always knackered. YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE.

that's why I said decent ones john

A coat of paint does nothing for the functionality.

can you see anything wrong with this one? let me assure you there is. It needs new clutch plates as well. LOL

I've done them before myself, the only tricky bit is getting the clutches apart to replace the seals.

You'll need a 3/4 drive socket set for the nut on the back and a long bar with a couple of holes in to hold the flange, nut is 220ft/lb I think. Aside from that and some circlip pliers is easy peasy.

Its an evening's work.

Will be popping around yours tomorrow with gearbox under one arm and overhaul kit under the other lol

I recall replacing the rear bearing, it was a fight to remove the flange and that nut took some shifting, If you do not have the tools as stated you could be at for a long long time

Got the 3/4 socket set and my mates got tons of tools I can borrow so should be alright. Lancing marine have got the kit. It's £350
