We had the above Vessel as neighbour on Saturday, a really decent bunch of guys.
The RIB vessels draw just 1 metre and with Jet Drives has the ability to get up creeks and shallow areas the larger boats cannot.
Spending a bit of time on the Orwell over the holiday weekend checking and promoting the fact they are around as part of Project Kracken.
On Monday they were heading up to Great Yarmouth to meet Minister Brandon Lewis who was making a visit http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/border-...s-alert-by-name-and-alert-by-nature-1-5168935
I found the guys to be sanguine but with a passion for protecting our coast line as best they can. Accomodation and facilities on Alert is very basic, certainly no luxury. The 'Ribs' were bought from BP who used them for Rig Rescue boats, basically a floating hospital with operating theatre, while now converted the 'blood channels' are still built into the floor!
