hi all
should i repaint waterline boot top with hard antifoul paint or two part polyurethane gloss ? or is either ok ? ta
 
Nah. Use single pack Yacht Enamel. Lasts years.

It disguises the encroachment of weed up above your waterline. Be sure to put it on before your antifoul if you are using paint for the boot top.
 
I did that this year on my Foxcub as I was using black, freshwater antifoul. I don't think those bright blues etc look very nice above the waterline and erodable antifouls scrub off when you are cleaning the boot top. If you do it with a gloss enamel boot top about 3-4" above the waterline, but extending below the water line it's really easy to mask up for the antifoul each year as it's just (say) 4" below the top of the boot top. Also you don't have to be as precise with the antifoul. Just don't put the boot top paint over existing antifoul as that would allow water to creep up behind the paint. Blistering at the very best. Falling off if you're unlucky.
