Boot Dudeldorf

I spent Saturday and Sunday at the show with my dad and brother. Very impressed with the sheer size of the show and the selection of boats on display. The Superyacht hall was very impressive and the raised walkway around the hall gave a great view of the boats. The big San Lorenzo Coco De Mer was my favourite. I sail also and I had a number of engineering/equipment stands I also wanted to visit but I barely had enough time to get around the areas I wanted to see. I had hoped to visit the tourism/charter area but ran out of time. My brother was very interested in the bigger sailing cruisers so we got to see the Amel 60 and the Oyster 565. both stunning boats. The Altena 52 and the Elling E6 were also very nice to see. Some day.
 
Back home now quite a drive back 12 hours total (incl ferry) 430 miles 5 Countries and the sea. Was it worth it ……….. Yes...……… Would I go again …...… Probably but not for a few years.

In a way it is so large it is mesmerising we had a good time though..... total cost to the pair of us £450 excluding food. that was 3 night in hotel and all the travel cost.

I am glad very rich people are so inclined to buy these very expensive boats so that I can buy one a few years down the line at a quarter of the cost
 
Did anyone see that X95 interior mockup? i did not find It in the many Boot2020 movies on youtube. This must have been quite a thing that they could not hide in some corner of the stand.

It was under the stand. It wasn't a 'finished' mock up as such, just plywood setting out the layout of the main deck cabin area. Interesting to see though. There's a walk around video of the whole boat in build on YouTube which shows you this and the rest of the boat. It looks to be an interesting concept, it will be interesting to see how popular it is. (Possibly worth a separate thread, curious to know what people think of it).

I don't quite follow why they make such compromises on the appearance of the boat to maximize space in this segment. For a 40 or 50 footer I can see that internal volume sells and can make a huge difference, but at 95 ft there is plenty of space anyway. I would put priority on creating the right proportions (which you can at this size without compromising space too much).
