books on the thames

just wondering if anyone on here can recommend any worthwhile books about the thames that would be helpful for a new boat owner.

The River Thames Book

The River Thames Book is the one I would recommend as well. It has in depth details about locks, facilities and what you can expect to find in the various river towns.

I was initially going to recommend the same book but I see from Amazon that it is out of stock and may be unobtainable. However, it might be worth shopping around to see if anyone else has a copy. Most chandlers on the Thames used to stock it.

pubs of the river Thames is ok but if it is the same one I have at home (pretty sure it is) it does not detail how to find the pub from the river which would be useful

Shouldn't be unobtainable, it has only recently been revised and re-issued.

I'd second the recommendation for it as well.
