I had a quick look to see if this has been mentioned previously here, so apologies if it has. Been meaning to get this book by Creeksailor (Tony Smith). Ordered the book by Paypal on Tuesday evening from the Creeksailor site;

http://creeksailor.blogspot.com/

& it arrived this morning. Loads of photo's and a chart of where these creeks all are. Tony now owns Charles Stock's Shoal Waters which I notice has a Seagull on it's stern. Looks a good book for anybody interested in the Blackwater.

Thanks for the tip.

If you click on 'Chas Stock Shoal Waters' you can see Charles handing the boat over.

You feel that this is an end of an era , and there will never be another like him again. Have very fond memories of his RYA Courses in Chelmsford. I think he did them for about thirty years.

Still, he has had a fantastic sailing life and perhaps he can still carry on sailing in other boats.

Complete co-incidence, but two days after posting this went up to the canal at Beaumont Quay on Saturday and Shoal Waters was anchored in the pool below.
