Morning and after some (what i hope is simple and non argumentative) advice on what is the best and easiest way to stick some marine ply sheets to the inside of the transom locker we have so I can then fit some eyes for elastic cords and netting etc to stop the items in there moving about in heavy seas etc.

Am thinking of CT1 perhaps? Sealing the marine ply prior to fixing?

Regards

Do you actually need wooden pads? Seems unnecessary complication & work. Can you not find suitable eyes that you could glue directly to the GRP?

I've used 'no more nails' type adhesives to stick wood to grp very successfully.

But things like cockpit locker tie-downs can get a lot of abuse when you need to get stuff in and out. I take the view that if it's physically possible to stand on something, someone will and it needs to be strong enough. So whateveryou use, make sure it works well, maybe try it with a small block, then make the real thing plenty strong.

Sikaflex 292 is intended for structural purposes and is good for mounting plywood to grp.Has excellent 'grab'.Much more pleasant than using resin in a confined space. Degrease grp first.Have lightweight prop sticks ready as you position.
Shop around for reasonable price.
