hi all, I'm planning a trip eastwards along the south coast, once past Selsey Bill I really do not know the area at all. According to my Admiralty chart there is an anchorage marked just to the east of Bognor Rocks. Has anyone used this, seen it or have any information about it? Would it be suitable for an overnighter? I can't seem to find any information about it so any thoughts would be welcome.

Sailed past many times, never seen any boats inshore. You could stop at Littlhampton if the tides are right or go onto Shoreham, again enough water to get through the lock needed or head onto Brighton.

Forget it! Open sea from around half tide, and fully exposed from E through S to WNW. And with any South its an open lee shore,

There's no overnight stops between Chi entrance and Littlehampton for leisure boats. I used to hold a DOT Passenger Boat Licence for the area, in the 1990's which licensed me to pick up passengers from Bognor Pier. It collapsed in 1966....

I've not seen anyone anchored in the area. Nice video on YouTube showing the rocks from overhead though..

Bognor rocks from above..

Very exposed from the south and a pipeline going out from the shore. No idea on the holding but on low spring tides the mud is very hard and slippery underfoot.

I anchored there once, quite a few years ago, now, waiting for the tide. Weather was dead calm. Well - it does happen every now and then! I got some lip from an inshore fisherman who thought it was his patch.
