picked up an MD1 yesterday seized at the moment but i dont give up easy!
Anyone know what wires go where on this dynostarter ?
on it is seems to be

B+

D-

DF

30

can i connect to a battery to test if it spins?

cheers

Yes it should spin if you connect a supply to "30" and D-

You need the control box as well to use it There is also usually a panel that incorporates the starter button, a warning light and a run/charge switch

Older control boxes have the solenoid for the starter built in. Replacements/ more modern ones have the solenoid separate. I suspect that the modern control box is solid state

30 is the +ve connection for the starter (A/30 on a Siba)
DF the field connection
D+ the output to the control box
D- the negative connection ( Bosch only)

If you have/obtain the old type controller 51/30 is the battery connection, 50 is the connection from the starter button. A is the connection to the starter 30 or A/30. 61/D+ is the connection for D+.

I have scanned the info I have but I believe there are some other variations.

Maybe you will find more on line or in the Volvo penta manuals.
