The bobstay on my boat is stainless steel wire, attached to the bow and the 'sprit with rigging screws. there is no quick release mechanism. The mooring terminates in synthetic rope, which is protected with thick plastic tubing. Will the bobstay be likely to chafe through this tubing and eventually the rope? I don't fancy undoing a rigging screw every time I moor, but fancy losing the boat even less!
