Any recommendations for yards on the Dart for some general updating work to a 40ft grp sailing yacht? Consists of interior refinements eg new hot water system, fixing headlining, sanding and varnishing, rigging (incl servicing winches), updating electrics and adding some supplementary solar panels etc.

Hi CGFR, although i haven't used either yard, there is Baltic Wharf in Totnes, and Philips yard in Kingswear. People i know have used them and were happy. Best regards, Oz.

We have been very satisfied when we have used Darthaven on a few occasions. And for electronics, we have received excellent service from Pulse Marine. No connection etc.

Try Mainstay Yacht Maintenance. Steve Kilpatrick is the main man. Doesn't have his own boatyard but works on boats on the river and in yards.

I had a major refit at Baltic Wharf last year with different contractors for different jobs. Osmosis, new engine, electrics, rigging, plumbing, windows and hatches etc etc. Please send me a message if you want details, pictures etc. Around a year later I am more than happy with the work. All done on a Rival 36.

Overwintered at Baltic wharf for more years than I care to remember, excellent friendly boatyard, bit of a faff getting up there if you draw more than 2metres but once there nothing they can’t do.....
