Boatyards near Burnham ...... comments, experiences?

Regards BYH, I have only really had electrical and mechanical work done, all been very good, although a little pricey. I would always chat to the guy who is actually going to do the work. But they are not renowned for gelcoat and paint work, again I heard that Robert at FYH was the best guy

I did hear the Bridgemarsh is now sold and that Priors was up for sale or sold ( only on the grape vine )

You already know my opinion of Rice & Cole and their underhand & devious business practices regarding the infamous theft of our mooring chain, I wouldn't touch them if they were the last boatyard on earth.

Can't speak from experience but BYH have always had a reputation for being a bit incompetent while also being overpriced.

Bridgemarsh marina has always had a good reputation for being reasonable, does Biff still run the place? Alternatively I have found Robin Prior to be quite a personable chap so Priors is another possibility.

Assuming you want somewhere on the north of the river, considering your location, I guess that is about it.

Lets stick with facts and recent experience.

Slight thread drift but I wonder whether the varied quality of work described often on ECF is the result of yards receiving a lot of insurance work which is usually supervised by surveyors. They will direct a yard on how to fix a job and do not hesitate to tell a yard to do it again if not satisfied. The individual has to rely on the owner/manager to supervise the job and often they don't! I have found that if you don't keep "nagging" your boat will never get launched-difficult if you live miles away!

Yes .. I can relate to that. And in the meantime, you're the one paying the extra storage fees.
