On our last haul out, our S&S34 has shown signs that all may not be well with her keel. We're investigating this carefully, but it looks like we may need to drop the keel as part of that.

Would love to know who people would recommend for work like this in the Portsmouth / Langstone / Hayling / Chichester area? (ideally they'd allow us to do some of the grunt work ourselves if that could cut costs)

Obviously keen to make sure we're in the right hands before we start.

Thanks

Have a chat with Richard Blake at Hayling Island Yacht Co.
Their very good at dealing with that sort of thing.
It might be cheaper during the Summer months?

I had my rudder bearing replace by Gosport Boat Yard and found them good, friendly and accommodating. I keep my boat round the corner so they collected it, took her out, did the work and put her back without needing me to be around, or take time off work....Although I did pop down to see her and get a couple of other jobs done too.

Try Thornham boatyard - sometimes known as ' marina ' but not really, - they are excellent and relatively good value for keeping / working on boats ashore.

They're at the top of Thorney Channel in Chichester Harbour ( near Southbourne by road ) - tidal access for an S&S 34 would require timing but they handle big boats.

No connection etc, 01243 375335

Also try Wilson's yard on Hayling Island, Chichester side, 02392 464869
