I have just struggled through the video, skipping bits.
Frankly, I am surprised he got as far as here. I actually feel a bit sorry for them. Not sailed solo before, little understanding of the boat. Couple of times said they had run out of money on the project. Did they think that after you cast off, there are no further expenses? Loading the route onto the new chart plotter as if that solved navigating... expecting to bed down for the night, rather than cat-nap for short intervals.
The next vid was 'Falmouth to Tenerife' Did any of it get out?
I was thinking about the bit of going round Brittany with all the 'interesting' bits. Esp if a bit

Regarding the expenses for the trip ..... I googled the cost of the dried food containers which arrived in the 2 boxes in one of the videos .... a cool £600+ per box !!.

I've cringed and skipped through his videos. A mixture (for me) of sympathy, annoyance and apprehension. Sympathy because he's the classic man with "a little knowledge" who has bought a boat unsurveyed (I assume, given the problems found). Annoyance because, well, I find him annoying! Apprehension at the prospect of him heading off with such a naive but arrogant attitude.

His other activities (anti COVID vax , COVID denier, crowd funding for a Google Search replacement with weird claims about Google) don't endear him to me! (I'm not a Google fan/applogist, but I'm a realist- let's not have thread drift on that one).

I await his next video with interest!

No doubt we have all tried things that sound a good idea at the time but never really worked out. It doesn't matter because you went to school on that and it often helps to push you in a further direction that may be the right one for you.

Is there some kind of human gene for the love of the sea and boats ? . I wonder if RTW yachting works
if you don't have it.

Someone who is tech savvy could well think sailing round the world doable as there are so many YouTubers reporting in their travails,we live in the age of YouTube and the digital screen that shows you where you are just like ina video game……maybe he became confused and has not learn the basic lessons of seamanship

Not easy to see from the photo in the Sud Ouest, but looked all there.
When the first report of him being lifted off, I wondered what type of electrical fault would stop him sailing to one of the nearby ports, he wasn't far off.

FRom viewing that Video it appears that the Yacht has an Engine , so would have thought using that would have enabled Him (them ?) to access a Port ?

Maybe its the Engine giving troubles ?

Much awaiting any further reports from Him (them?)

But supprised that they apparently went to Dartmouth for their overhaul /maintanence issues on that Yacht ?

Cripes, he obviously needs the adulation of the crowds and thought that setting out to sail around the world would be the next step. Slight problem, no experience and maybe thinking that funds would flow in as he posted his vids. Lots of others get it right, but he.... less so.

I might wander down to look at the boat, as not far. Just wonder if he will do anything more with it. He def looked a bit concerned after the first solo trip from Plymouth to Falmouth.

Good to know he shouldn’t run out of money what with the claim below (from his YouTube channel.

‘I am Zed Phoenix, the creator of Mega Search the worlds biggest independent search engine’

About Us
He's a fantasist who's 'economical with the truth'. Mega Search, for example, does not even feature on any list of independent search engines that I can find.

Watching his efforts to row his dinghy it was patently obvious that this guy has no boat sense whatsoever. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. That, together with seeing how he sailed, it was no surprise he didn’t get far.

The video of the boat on the beach is Here

I find it frustrating and sad that someone sets off unprepared (even if he thinks he's prepared) and probably then ends up completely beyond the limit of his skills.

The result is a damaged boat and others putting themselves at risk to sort him out.

Despite my views on his other activities (COVID stuff and accusing MPs of sexual assault), I still feel sorry for the guy.
