Andy I saw the F43 on the list and thought you would be curious
Looked at it prior to buying ours.
Most of the older boats we had seen would need somewhere between 20 & 30 k spent to bring them up to the spec we have plus the time not being able to use the boat.
Was not too bothered by the age of the older boats but the facelift model with the larger engines sold it for me

Ditto. I looked at 2 currently up. One needed the engines and drives completely overhauling the cost of which would far exceed the boat value. Honestly, a chainsaw would be the owners / buyers only sensible choice.

Oh no. My cruiser entry level was way below that. I was in the 30-35k budget when those boats were up for sale, but it would be rude to point out which ones I think.

That Sealine at £55k would be a nice project for someone willing to put in a bit of elbow grease and invest a few quid for a cosmetic refurb.

I agree, though I suspect it can't be bought for that price. It has a reserve which isn't met at that price.

Would only make sense to a smoker! Vile though isn't it? I only glanced at the images last night but the headlinings and other fabric panels looked pretty grubby to me too. Still, it's far from a basket case.
Anyhow, I see the boat is for sale on Boatshed for £100k. Surely £55k can't be that far off the reserve?

It didn't make reserve. I stopped bidding at £61,250.

Thanks. I think that without seeing it you were right to stop there. Would be interesting to see what the reserve was and also what the vendor is going to do next. Maybe the boat might have a bit of blight now in its current condition?
But if you're not quite at your limit would a viewing and a Best And Final Offer be an option? Perhaps it might be better in the flesh than the awful pics.

Did some digging on the F43 and can say that it would have needed to go a hell of a long way more to get to it's reserve.
Would say the auction did more harm than good for the seller, as you say it is going to give the impression he is prepared to take a significant hit on his asking price and that is definitely not the case at the current time.

I agree, gives the impression of a desperate seller. Same goes for eBay auctions.
