Boats for sale on Windermere

hi all,

not sure this is the right forum but I've started looking for a boat (again) - after missing our old one.

I want to go back to Windermere and would rather not have to transport something in if I can avoid it. That leaves me with the usual brokers (which to be fair are pretty good) but that limits me a bit. Does anyone know of any other forums or sites where I might find out about local private sales? There are lot of boats on the lake and I'm sure some are potentially for sale...

After something around 28-30ft, maybe Moody, Beneteau, Gib'sea or I even quite fancy a motor sailer (Colvic Watson, etc. - I know it's over-kill for a lake but like the accommodation and style).

This site lists boats by country/State/county for sale. You are able to do an advanced search on size/manufacturer etc. (I can't work out what county Lake Winemere is in)

I haven't found any private listings of boats on Lake Windemere.
There's a few boat clubs on Lake Windemere so maybe you should look on their websites?

Presumably if you want a boat on Windermere it is within travelling distance. The wardens office list a few on the notice board. Maiden Marine, Windermere Aquatics and Shepherds are the main brokers.

Other than that it the usual on line brokers such as Apollo Duck.

If you fancy a day out and have an inflateable with outboard you might turn up some boats with for sale signs. Parsonage bay in front of the wardens office, Michel Wyke, and round the back of Belle Isle, Watershead and Fell Foot are the main sites. Alternatively ask the wardens to put a wanted notice on their notice board.

You mentioned motor sailers, thre is a nice Colvic Watson for sale at Glasson Dock which is about 25 miles from Windermere. I think she is the 26ft version and she is on a trailer in the sailing club compound. PM me if interested and I'll get further details.

Thanks everyone. Some links there I'd not seen. I've been keeping an eye on Maiden and have viewed a couple of beneteaus and a gib'sea but they weren't quite right. Colvic sounds good. Sending pm...
