Boats.co.uk have today become the exclusive UK dealer for Williams

http://www.williamsjettenders.com/b...y_for_williams_performance_tenders_for_the_uk

And I have ordered a new 325 Turbo s - had to tame my son's choosing of the options - no use for underwater lights in Lymington! And of course, Boats.co.uk did a part exchange on the old Williams and made the whole deal easy. Just have to wait for it to be built.
Good going admillington! That will be fun. Which options did he get your sign off for? :D I like their 460 very much and it's on the point of persuading me to abandon outboards and go back to a jet. Might be too heavy/too big - I'll ask for the CAD drawings

Aren't you the big man
How rude. It's a boat forum which means folks are going to talk about boats they've bought. If you don't like that then this isn't the forum for you.

Getting back on topic, excellent news for he Barke Bros.
Yes. And for Williams - the Barke brothers have been shifting a lot of units over the last few years and buying 325s 6 at a time I think. I wonder what "exclusive" means. Like, if Fairline buy a Williams to put as OEM std equipment on a boat, do they have to buy it from BUK?

I just have to follow that link and order one for myself. Surely this is what it's all about

I am sorry if you felt my post was being arrogant and showing off - this is not my style at all. When I first joined this forum 14 years ago I had a 1990 Sealine 190 and I have been very lucky to have been able to move up. By the way, in all the time i have been on this forum I never been so insulted.

I have been looking for a new Williams since reviewing the new models at Southampton Boat Show 2014 but no one would do a part exchange so it was going to involve me selling my current one myself. When BCK became dealers, they would do a part exchange and make the transaction easy. We use the Williams a lot and changing it is not a whim but the one we had was one of the 6 pack that Essex had purchased and had no extras such as the bathing ladder which will be very useful.

If you are ever in Lymington please come and say hello and make your own mind up if I am a t..ser.

I noted your concerns before I purchased a Williams in the first place but I must say it has been excellent. As with so many things, it is always down to the maintenance. I have always flushed the engine after use, had it serviced every year and during the winter, used it every month and charged the battery etc.

As to the extras:-

1. Carbon Black tubes - Son requirement
2. Bathing Ladder - trying to pull kids out of the water as they are getting bigger isn't much fun.
3. Teak Footwells - easier to keep clean than bare GRP.
4. Depth Sounder
5. Garmin VHF radio- for reliable communication from mother ship
6. Fusion MP3 - hmm
7. Overall cover.

The 2015 model has the new version of the engine with a switch to restrict the speed and the hull has been changed to reduce spray

Well Lupa is off all of our Christmas Card lists!

Not a nice man.

Williams. We have a 325s

1. It is fun

2. the depth sounder is dodgy at best. The boat has 12 hours on it and we are under warranty replacement number 2!

3. The documentation is poor. There is a hi low key on mine - but other than "it put the engine output hi / low" it gives no real indication of how hi or how low. Now I know I could play with it but ...

4. On the documentation thread .... the most common thing you will do ( well we have done it twice so far!) is pull in as ski tow line to the jet unit. The manual mentions 100% nothing about what to do. (We call Fairline and they take it to bits and put it back together again at E45 a pop!). Other boats in Cala D'or with Williams all seem to have done the same over time. The web is full of suggestions, but the only real way is to unbolt the jet unit from the back, take it off and pull out the chord.

5. the s does 45 knots. I did this once with just me on board in flat water and it was a close to terrifying as I would like to get! With more ballast in the front it would probably have been better, but not sure SWMBo wouid like being closer to the point of accident!

6. There is a ring on the front to tie it down. This is the ideal height to dent the metal trim round an S65 bathing platform! I covered mine with rubber.

7. had their stainless steel cradle mounts, and after 3 weeks they completely collapsed. It was clear the welding was poor. Boats.co.uk did a instant replacement for the white ones made out of angle iron ( or whatever) which are bullet proof. I would avoid the stainless mounts - look nice but no substance.

it is a lot of fun. It is a bit splashy, and it is interesting they have modified this for 2015. We have the bathing ladder (essential) and internal lights - lovely at night!

The after sales service from Williams Balearics is excellent.

Have fun.

I am deeply sorry for any offence caused. It was written with my tongue firmly in cheek.
I thought that luxury motorboat ownership was meant in part to show the world you have made it in life.
I am sure a Williams jet boat as a tender must be in some way a statement of success of which I recognise.
Jealous? Of course I am.
