e closed the deal on our new to us boat today so are now the proud owners of an elderly Birchwood TS37, dating back to 1986 but with 2001 Yanmar 260hp lumps with under 1700hrs. It has been a choppy ride getting here but hopefully all is looking up nicely and we move our stuff on board in the next 2 weeks and start some local (to start with) cruising again. Survey passed with flying colours as did the sea trial even with a very lumpy sea off Dartmouth entrance in wind over tide, 18KTS AT 3,300 rpm into that sea should do. but I will need to put a couple of grab handles to hang on to and aid my shaky legs up there in that lumpiness. or I could just sit down, shut up and stay put.:D

Stand by for more numpty questions. in next few weeks.:confused: .
 
Very pleased to read you’re back in the UK safe & sound, The boat looks great (well as great as any mobo can look), don’t forget to mind your wash as you whizz passed your old raggie friends. Best of luck with this new chapter in your life. Mr Trump sends his regards by the way.

We replied in better legalise than they made a claim in, thanks to a very helpful forumite. but even then the twatt sent me a pi of corrosion on the windlass terminals, take 8 months after the sale and saying how would I like to see that. No I resisted the foxtrot oscar reply as well as asking if he had found the hole drilled in the bottom I plugged with toffee. I hope he smoulders in hell....According to AIS the boat has not moved in 18 months.so why even have a windlass......

Have a great time in Dartmouth Robin, just keep well away from Eos whilst you’re learning the ropes:)

I'll try!, we have the use of the berth until 8th May after which cannot get in our new one in Cowes until fter 24TthJune so will dawdle our way there., visiting old haunts on the way.

A friend of mine had one of these that was re engined and it sounds nds familiar. Do you have names of old owners ?
He’s the sort of guy I’d be happy to buy a boat from.

NO idea of owner names but was originally called Lilley D. then Shamrock 111 before current name of Miratea. a name formed when owned jointly by 2 couples. Was on Thames at Bray in earlier years, moved to Southampton in 2010 then Dartmouth where we are now.

When I see my pal who’s moved from my marina to the Hamble I’ll ask him :)
 
I had a TS37 from 2003 - 2009 and shared a pontoon for a year with Miratea at Penton Hook during 2003 before I moved to Dover. The owner at that time kept his TS37 immaculate, and I remember he sailed from Chertsey round to the Solent a couple of times. A great boat, hugely underated we had up to 8 people staying overnight on several occasions. Partly as a result of knowing how Miratea performed I upgraded our engines from the BMW 180's to Volvo D6 310's and it transformed the boat!
